After having been pointed to it by three of the people I'm following, I'd like to recommend an extremely well-done video that describes the semantic web in an entertaining and thought-provoking way...

My personal (and simplistic) conclusion and take-away:

- there is more and more data in our lives

- there is a need for experts who filter, analyse and interpret this data to get a meaning out of it

- there is a need to discover the relationships behind: The data has been created with a purpose. There is typically a human being behind it and this person engages with other human beings in real life. The more people are listening to this person, the more influence and power he or she has.

Just making sense of my day-to-day job...
